Well-priced, move-in ready homes will win.

1. Well-priced, move-in-ready homes will win.

Homes that are clean, updated, and priced correctly especially in markets like Ankeny, Waukee, and West Des Moines will continue to sell faster than fixer-uppers or overpriced listings.

2. Buyers will focus on payments, not just price.

Monthly affordability will drive decisions more than list price, making financing strategy and timing just as important as negotiations.

3. Location and lifestyle are large factors.

Buyers will pay premiums for short commutes, good schools, walkability, and established neighborhoods across the Des Moines metro.

4. Small updates will outperform big renovations.

Fresh paint, lighting, curb appeal, and warm, neutral interiors will deliver better returns than major remodels.

5. Inventory improves slightly, but competition remains.

More homes will come to market, but not enough to remove competition for desirable properties, especially in popular price ranges.

6. Local expertise will matter more than ever.

With national headlines often missing what’s actually happening on the ground, working with a local real estate expert who understands Central Iowa neighborhoods, pricing, and timing will make a meaningful difference in outcomes.
