Your Assignment This Fall Is Loving Where You Live

My own fall date-night list needed new material, so here are four spots worth trying, and an assignment for you at the end.

1. Guesthouse Tavern + Oyster (West Des Moines)

Fireplace, a proper oyster selection, and a lobster roll that might be the best excuse for a Tuesday-night reservation all season.

2. Tom Archer's Poor Man's Country Club (West Des Moines)

Classic supper-club energy in the basement of the historic Val Air Ballroom, at 301 Ashworth Road. The kind of place that makes an ordinary Thursday feel like an occasion.

3. Aura Restaurant & Lounge (Clive)

Smoked cocktails, a strong wine list, and a modern lounge feel at 12851 University Avenue. It's good for the night you actually want to dress up a little and sit at the bar before dinner.

4. Prime & Providence (West Des Moines)

Coal-fired steaks, a real oyster bar, and shellfish towers at 595 South 60th Street. It makes for a “we're celebrating something, or we just felt like it” kind of night.

Now for Your Assignment

Pick one of these four, take your person (or your friends), and actually go. Then tell me about it! What you ordered, the ambiance, whether it's a repeat. I'm genuinely trying to figure out where to take my wife next.

Here's the Thing About a Good Date-Night Spot

It's not really about the restaurant. It's about actually wanting to be out, in the town you live in, doing the life you're living. That's the same thing I think about with a home.

A Home Has to Meet Your Needs

Square footage and bedroom counts matter. So does the commute, the neighborhood, and how close you are to the places you'd actually want to spend a Tuesday night. But the ones people end up loving are the ones where they love their lifestyle too.

So Let's Find Both

If you're thinking about a home that actually fits the life you want to live, let's talk. Call or text me at 515-708-4572 or email steven@sbreiowa.com. You can change a lot with just one phone call.
