My personal take on a classic. This American single malt from Cedar Ridge is super smooth. Even more fantastic though, it’s distilled right here in Iowa!
Ingredients:
1. 1 orange peel
2. 1 maraschino cherry
3. ½ oz of Proof Old Fashioned Cocktail Syrup “Orange”
4. 2 dashes Angostura bitters
5. 2 oz Cedar Ridge “THE QUINTESSENTIAL Signature Blend” American single malt whiskey (pictured)
6. 1 match
Instructions:
1. Put the syrup in the bottom of your favorite glass.
2. Add bitters and stir until combined.
3. Add ice to your glass – pro tip, use silicone ice molds to get the large “rock” type cubes.
4. Pour the whiskey in over the ice and stir until combined.
5. Light the match, then take your orange peel and squeeze over the glass to express the oils into the flame to ignite the orange peel oil.
6. Take the orange peel and rub it around the inside rim of the glass.
7. Finish by garnishing with the orange peel and a maraschino cherry.
